Erik Hoel
Erik Hoel is a writer living in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and the author of the new book, The World Behind the World: Consciousness, Free Will, and the Limits of Science. He was a research assistant professor at Tufts University. He received his Ph.D. in neuroscience from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, was previously a postdoctoral researcher at Columbia University, and has been a visiting researcher at the Institute for Advanced Study. A 2018 Forbes “30 Under 30” for his neuroscientific research on consciousness, he has won awards for his essays and fiction writing, and was a 2017 Center for Fiction NYC Emerging Writers Fellow. The Revelations was his first novel.
