Welcome to Nautilus

We recently launched a new version of the Nautilus website. If you're an existing subscriber, your subscription remains active—you simply need to set up your account to access member features online.

How to setup your account for the first time

  • Go to the Login page.
  • Enter the email address you used to subscribe, or "Login with Google" if you have a gmail account and prefer to login that way.
  • Check your inbox for a link to sign in.
  • You're in!
  • Create a password from your account page, if you choose to.

Once logged in, you’ll typically remain logged in for about 30 days. If you’re logged out, simply return to the login page and enter your email and password.

Subscribers: Don’t worry, your subscription is safe!

Will I lose my newsletter subscription?

No. All newsletter subscriptions remain active. You’ll continue to receive emails.

Will my digital subscription be interrupted?

No. You simply need to create your account using the same email address you subscribed with.

Will my print subscription be interrupted?

No. Your print issues will continue arriving as scheduled. Creating an account allows you to manage preferences and access digital benefits.

Common questions

I didn’t receive the password email.

Please check your spam folder or request again from the login page.

I forgot my password.

Use the “Forgot Password” link from the login page.

I would like to change the email associated with my account.

Please first setup an account and login with email you initially setup the account with. From there, you can go to your account preferences and change your email.

I still need help.

If you have any trouble, please email account@nautil.us. We aim to respond within 72 hours. During the site transition, response times may be slightly longer than usual. We appreciate your patience.

Is it free to read?

In most cases, the first two articles you read every month are free. Nautilus members receive unlimited access to all stories on the website in our 10+ year archive. Become a member.

Does Nautilus use cookies?

We use Internet cookies, which allow us to manage access to Nautil.us, recognize you and provide personalization, and help us understand how people use Nautilus services. You will not be able to access certain areas of our website if your computer does not accept cookies from us. We do not respond to browser-based “do not track” signals.
