Roger Payne is currently president of Ocean Alliance, and is working with Project CETI, with the ultimate goal of communicating directly with a whale. Project CETI recently received a TED Audacious Prize. Payne’s many honors and awards include a knighthood in the Netherlands; a MacArthur Fellowship; a WWF Member of Honor; a UNEP Global 500 award; and Oxford University’s Dawkins Prize. He holds an AB from Harvard University and a Ph.D. from Cornell University.
