Larry Carbone

Larry Carbone is a veterinarian with a lifetime career focus on welfare protections for animals in laboratories. In addition to his veterinary degree, he holds a Ph.D. in history and the philosophy of science and technology, and specialty certifications in Animal welfare and in laboratory animal medicine. He is a visiting fellow in the Animal Law and Policy Program at Harvard Law School. Carbone left the University of California, San Francisco in 2019, and is now a freelance animal welfare scholar, consultant, speaker, and trainer in laboratory animal welfare. Larry is a potter, hiker, and Boston native.
