She has written for the Smithsonian, National Geographic, Reader’s Digest, the New York Times and other publications. Her most recent book, <i><a href="https://us.macmillan.com/books/9781250283382/thelivingmedicine">The Living Medicine</a>: How a Lifesaving Cure was Nearly Lost and Why it Will Rescue Us When Antibiotics Fail</i>, chronicled the history of phage therapy and was longlisted for the PEN America Literary Awards.</p>
