“Water” is artist Brian Stauffer’s favorite work. The stunning image opened our 2015 Water issue and illustrates water’s deceptive simplicity. It covers most of the Earth, but is regularly in short supply. It is intimately involved in the processes of life, but life on other planets may not need it. It is inscrutable and unpredictable.
As a contributing artist to publications including The New York Times, TIME Magazine, The New Yorker, The Nation, The Village Voice, Rolling Stone, Esquire, GQ, and over 300 others worldwide, Brian’s illustrations are best known for their conceptual take on social issues.
